Philippians 4:4-14

4 Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! 5 Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon.
6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. 9 Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.

10 How I praise the Lord that you are concerned about me again. I know you have always been concerned for me, but you didn’t have the chance to help me. 11 Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. 12 I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. 13 For I can do everything through Christ, [fn3] who gives me strength. 14 Even so, you have done well to share with me in my present difficulty.

I love these verses!  Definitely something to meditate on in the days ahead.  Verse 8 has been a life verse for me since I was a child.  Verses 11-13 are also very familiar, it's just that in the midst of difficult times I seem to forget them.  :)  I am truly grateful for His reminder of how sufficient He is!  Praying you are all blessed and growing daily in the Lord!

Galations 6:4-10

4 Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else. 5 For we are each responsible for our own conduct.
6 Those who are taught the word of God should provide for their teachers, sharing all good things with them.
7 Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. 8 Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. 9 So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. 10 Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.

Galations 2:19-21

19 For when I tried to keep the law, it condemned me. So I died to the law—I stopped trying to meet all its requirements—so that I might live for God. 20 My old self has been crucified with Christ. [fn5] It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.

II Corinthians 10:3-5

"We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. 4   We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. 5 We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ."

Calling Out

April is crying
Her heart in desperate need
The emptiness inside her
Brings her to her knees

She calls out to the Savior
Yet, still she can’t believe
That all her guilt and anger
Are hanging on that tree

She lives for every moment
When someone fills the need
She can’t give up the pleasure
Of giving in to the heat

Jesus stands with open arms
His blood and tears pour out
He whispers “I love you April
Why do you still doubt?”

April looks to heaven
She falls down on her knees
She gives her soul to the Savior
She finally believes
That all her guilt and anger
Are hanging on that tree.

“For God so loved the World, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 KJV
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”  I John 1:9 KJV

II Corinthians 4:7-10

Even though I have been silent these last few weeks, the Lord has not been silent.  I love how He uses different seasons in our lives to teach us things.  This morning during my quiet time I felt God telling me it was time to start writing again.  I pray everyone reading this is healthy spiritually and physically.  This blog isn't so much about me as it is about Jesus and building a relationship with Him.  I pray that each of you would be blessed today and that God would fill you with Himself.

Here's the passage for the day:
8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 10 We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.

Jeremiah 29:11-13 NIV

"11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."

I love these verses.  Hope you all are encouraged as we start this new week.  God bless.

Words to live by

Isa 43:1   But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called [thee] by thy name; thou [art] mine.
Isa 43:2   When thou passest through the waters, I [will be] with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

I Timothy 2:8

"I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting."

Pray without wrath and doubting.  What does that mean exactly?  We must have faith when we pray.  If we don't believe that God will answer our prayers then they are useless.  Also, we must not give in to anger.  We must forgive and let God's love flow through us.  We are one body and we must not let anger and quarrels tear us apart. We need His Spirit to empower us to do these things.

I pray you all have a blessed week.

Faucets

Happy last day of January!  Wow, this month has really flown  by!  Can't believe we are one day away from February.  Yesterday at church the pastor gave an interesting analogy.  We are all faucets.  It doesn't matter if a faucet is cheap or made from solid gold, if it isn't hooked up to the power source the faucet is useless.  Nothing will come out of it.  The same is true in our Christian walk.  We must be hooked up to our power source, the Holy Spirit.  Lately, this truth has really been hitting home.  We have access to an unlimited power supply but many of us do not take advantage of it.  The Holy Spirit is available to each of us.  It doesn't matter if we are the cheap $10 faucet or the solid gold faucet, the same water, the same power will flow through each of us.  We are just the tool and God will use all who are willing.  Praise the Lord for His faithfulness!

Ask

"Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where [is] the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk [therein]."  Jeremiah 6:16

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:"  Matthew 7:7

"Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven." Matthew 18:19

"If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you." John 15:7

Pray for Unity

Good morning!  Have been reading in Acts lately and it's been impressed upon me to pray for unity in the Body of Christ.  When Christ came He died for everyone.  Salvation is for everyone.  When He ascended back into heaven He promised us His Holy Spirit to empower and guide us.  There were no Baptists, Lutherans or Catholics.  They were just followers of Jesus Christ.  How did things get so crazy?  Faith in Christ should unify us yet man has separated us.  Here's what the Word says about it:
"3 Always keep yourselves united in the Holy Spirit, and bind yourselves together with peace.4 We are all one body, we have the same Spirit, and we have all been called to the same glorious future. 5 There is only one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 and there is only one God and Father, who is over us all and in us all and living through us all." Ephesians 4:3-6 NLT
How can we expect to win the lost when we can't even agree amongst ourselves?  We all read the same Bible and we serve the same Lord.  Maybe we should focus on that instead of our differences.

Hopefully today's post will challenge us all to pray for unity in the Church.  May you all have a blessed day in the Lord.

Seek

"And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee." Psalm 9:10

"One [thing] have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple." Psalm 27:4

"[When thou saidst], Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek." Psalm 27:8

"Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it." Psalm 34:14

My hearts desire is to truly know the Lord.  He promises that if we seek Him we will find Him.  What's your favorite "seek" verse?

Have a blessed day in the Lord!

Ephesians 5:1-2

"Follow God's example in everything you do, because you are his dear children. 2 Live a life filled with love for others, following the example of Christ, who loved you and gave himself as a sacrifice to take away your sins. And God was pleased, because that sacrifice was like sweet perfume to him."

This is my prayer.  To follow the example of Christ and live a life of love.  I mean real love.  Tough, powerful love that speaks the truth at all times and lives as Christ would.  To speak the truth in love even when that means someone may not like what I have to say.  To be filled with the power and love of God to boldly proclaim His word.  Lord, please use me!

Delight

Good morning ladies!  I hope you are all warm and dry today.  We got about 7 inches of snow last night.  Getting ready to go help the men clear the sidewalks.  Just wanted to share the song of my spirit this morning...came to me in the shower this morning.  :)

Delight

It is a delight to honor you
It is a delight to worship you
It is a delight to praise your name
It is a delight
It is a delight to sing your praise
It is a delight to speak your truth
It is a delight to serve you Lord
It is a delight
It is a delight to read your Word
It is a delight to speak your praise
It is a delight to teach your truths
It is a delight
It is a delight to love your Lord
It is a delight to rest in peace
It is a delight to live with joy
It is a delight

But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. Psalm 1:2
Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Psalm 37:4
I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law [is] within my heart. Psalm 40:8
In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul. Psalm 94:19
I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word. Psalm 119:16

Psalm 55:17

Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.

Beginnings

Beginnings

You knew me before you formed me
Deep in my mother’s womb
Your plans for me amazing
Who am I to You?

You knew me before you formed me
Set apart for the world to see
The power and love of a Savior
Reaching out to all in need

You knew me before you formed me
A spokesman of your grace
Heaven’s arms wide open
Help me lead them to your embrace

You knew me before you formed me
Every detail, inside and out
Pour your Spirit on me Lord
Hear my hungry heart cry out!

Prayer Request 2

Hello ladies.  One of my friends just called and her father passed away this weekend.  Please keep her family in your prayers.  He was a believer, so there is comfort in that.  Her name is Jamie and she would really appreciate the prayers.  Thanks and God bless you!

Prayer Request

Okay ladies.  Here's my first request.  Please pray that God gives me wisdom and direction.  I believe that He is opening doors and revealing things to me.  I desperately need his guidance.

"That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:" Ephesians 1:17

Call to prayer

Okay, to be honest, I never thought I would have my own blog.  Sometimes, God has different ideas.  Why this blog?  I believe with all my heart that when God's people pray things happen.  This is a way for me and all my sister's in Christ to stay connected.  Feel free to post any prayer requests or answers to prayer.  Eventually, I hope we all will form our own little prayer groups (if you aren't in one already) that meet on a regular basis.  I am giving this blog over to the Lord.  It's His and what happens with it is up to Him.  Looking forward to what He is going to do!
